STOP
HURTING MY CHILDREN!
by Larry Hall
"It were better for him that a millstone were hanged
about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he
should offend one of these little ones." (Luke
17:2)
In 1997, my wife and
I attended a Mother's Day service at church and spent the afternoon in relaxation
and "late" shopping for that special day. We then attended the evening service
and entered into a glorious time of praise and worship. It was during the chorus
of "We Exalt Thee," at precisely 6:29 p.m. that the Lord flooded my soul with
a powerful message. I could hardly remain standing. God showed me a picture
of torture and pain that made my knees buckle. I asked the Lord what I should
do. His word was brief, but very explicit: "Tell them to stop hurting
My children!"
Before I could question His command, I was impressed with an image of a young
girl being immersed in a pool of water with a plastic bag held over her head.
I knew immediately what the Lord wanted me to disclose in the June, 1997 issue
of APOLOGETICS: Satanic ritual child abuse in the Mormon kingdom.
I had originally planned to expose this demonic activity in a later edition.
I had attempted to speak about this allegation on only three occasions in the
previous two months: to a local church youth group; to a Sunday morning church
service in Minturn, Colorado; and to my wife in the privacy of our home. On
each occasion, I was unable to complete the message without completely breaking
down in tears. The pain I feel for the innocent children in Mormon bondage is
overwhelming. I doubt that I will ever be able to read this article out loud
without tears.
I pleaded with the Lord, "Can I not wait for another month to start this project?
It will give me more time to gather information." But His answer was, "No!
I have other plans for you next month. My people have been apathetic to this
problem for way too long. Use the information I have already shown you and wait
no longer. Time is running out! I will come quickly, and begin the judgment
of man within My own house."
In obedience to my Lord, I will present a brief exposé of the Mormon ritual
abuse problem to you in the center section of this article. Pray earnestly for
this situation as you read.
All
Is Not Well in Zion...
As we were driving home from the Mother's Day service, I recalled the first
statistics I had collected on family problems in the state of Utah, where 70
percent of its population was, at that time, Mormon. When we got home, I dug
through my files and read again the newspaper headlines from years ago:
"Utah Divorces Top U.S. Rate--Utah had 6,160 divorces during 1975, or
5.1 per 1,000 population, compared with an estimated national rate of 4.8 per
1,000 persons...consistently higher than the national average,.." 1
"Utah Teen Suicides Lead U.S.
Average--The suicide rate among teenagers has increased over the past 15
years, and the rate among Utah teenagers has consistently led the national
average. Utah Bureau of Health Statistics records show that the suicide
rate among males aged 15 to 19 was 9.2 per 100,000 population for the 1963-67
period, compared with a national rate of 6.1 per 100,000. During 1973-77, the
Utah rate was 16.1, compared with 12.2 nationally." 2
"Women Suicide Rate in Utah
Jumps--The suicide rate for women in Utah nearly doubled from 1960
to 1970, a report of the Utah Bureau of Health Statistics says." 3
"Utah's Teen Birth Rate Increases
11%--SALT LAKE CITY (UPI)--Seven out of every ten children
born to teenagers in Utah are conceived out of wedlock... 'Of every ten children
born to teenagers in Utah, two are born illegitimately, five are conceived out
of wedlock by women who married before the child is born, and three are conceived
by married teenaged women,' he (State Family Health Services Director Peter
van Dyck) said. 'About twice as many teenage births are premature, twice as
many babies born to teenagers die, and three to four times as many are born
with birth injuries,' the health official said." 4
Utah, Inside the Church State--A
Denver Post Sunday special supplement dated November 21-28, 1982, reports: "Utah's
child murder rate is five times the national average. ...because of the
fierce pressure to remain 'respectable' in Utah, seven months has become the
most common interval between marriage and childbirth."
More recent statistics indicate that the situation in Utah has not improved.
According to the Salt Lake Tribune, January 11, 1990, "Utah's divorce
rate is 5.4 per 1,000 persons, compared to 4.8 nationally. Salt Lake County's
divorce rate is almost 50 percent higher than the national average,
at 6.4 divorces per 1,000." 5
It also reports, "The number
of out-of-wedlock births in the state increased by 7 percent from 1987 to 1988,
the 14th consecutive year the out-of-wedlock birthrate has increased in Utah."
6
Child Sexual Abuse--"The
statistics are startling.... according to the National Center of Child Abuse
and Neglect in Washington, D.C., Utah has experienced a 400 percent increase
in the number of substantiated cases of child sexual abuse from 1979 to 1983.
The state also has one of the highest per capita rates of child abuse in
the nation." 7
Six years later, the same newspaper
reported, "Since 1983, the number of child abuse and neglect victims has
grown 212 percent. Child sexual-abuse numbers were even more alarming.
The increase of 2,316 sex-abuse victims in 1991 was a jump of 23.7 percent more
than the 1,872 recorded in 1990. Since 1983, reports of child sexual abuse
have risen a whopping 379 percent." 8
A More Serious
Problem
As terrible as these Utah statistics are, there is a more serious problem in
that state far worse than anything I have mentioned. It involves the physical
torture, sexual abuse, and psychological destruction of children. It is known
as satanic ritual abuse.
I had suspected this type of abuse within the Mormon church for many years.
The makeup and practices of the church seem to welcome demonic activity! Satanic
architecture, blood oaths and penalties, the "five points of fellowship," the
"devil's apron," and demonic furniture and undergarments convince me that the
Mormon church is a virtual "petri-dish for demons." If you have read other APOLOGETICS
articles, you may already be aware of many of these satanic connections.
My worst fears were finally confirmed! In the November 1991 issue of
the Salt Lake City Messenger (published by Utah Lighthouse Ministry),
Jerald and Sandra Tanner published a memo written by Bishop Glenn L. Pace, a
high authority within the Mormon Church. Many investigators recognize the Tanners
as foremost authorities on Mormon research, who are renowned for their scrupulous
standards of accuracy. Because of their usual caution in reporting, the memo
was given a great deal of importance and credibility.
The memo, dated July 19, 1990, was written by Bishop Pace to the Strengthening
Church Members Committee of the Mormon Church. Mr. Pace is a General Authority
and holds the position as Second Counselor of the Presiding Bishopric. The memo,
subsequently authenticated and confirmed by the Church, addresses the subject
of "Ritualistic Child Abuse." It is a startling memo with very serious ramifications.
The Mormon Church is very protective of its public perception of "wholesome
family living," and millions of dollars are spent each year to promote this
image. Until recently, the truth has been very effectively concealed
from you by their leaders.
As you now learn about the documented and confirmed Mormon satanic ritual abuse
problem, you will either be shocked or in a state of disbelief. As you read
carefully some excerpts from the memo (in the following section), you will be
able to judge for yourself! Unless otherwise noted, all quotes are taken from
the memo as published by the Tanners in Satanic Ritual Abuse and Mormonism,
1992, pp. 7-18. This document is available from Utah Lighthouse Ministry,
P.O. Box 1884, Salt Lake City, Utah 84110.
Satanic Ritual Abuse...and the Mormon Church
The Bishop Pace Memo:
"Pursuant to the Committee's request, I am writing this memorandum to pass along
what I have learned about ritualistic child abuse."
[Bishop Pace then reminds the committee of three earlier reports on this topic
that they had received in 1989.]
"I have met with sixty victims. That number could be twice or three
times as many if I did not discipline myself to only one meeting per week.
...someone needed to pay the price to obtain an intellectual and spiritual conviction
as to the seriousness of this problem within the church.
"Of the sixty victims with whom I have met, fifty-three are female and seven
are male. Eight are children. All sixty individuals are members of the (Mormon)
church. Forty-five victims allege witnessing and/or participating in human sacrifice.
The majority were abused by relatives, often their parents. All have developed
psychological problems and most have been diagnosed as having multiple personality
disorder or some other form of dissociative disorder.
"The basic objective is premeditated -- to systematically and methodically torture
and terrorize children until they dissociate. The torture is not a consequence
of the loss of temper, but the execution of well-planned, well-thought out
rituals often performed by close relatives."
[Bishop Pace then
explains the psychological processes involved that make victims forget the experience
until something triggers their memories.]
"Many individuals with whom I have spoken have served missions
and it has not been until later that they begin to remember. One individual
has memories of participating in rituals while serving as a full-time missionary.
"One day they will have been living a normal life and the next day they
will be in a mental hospital in a fetal position."
[Mr. Pace explains
why victims are able to remember the events so well once they are triggered:
(1) the indelible terror involved during the acts; and (2) memory that is not
subject to dilution of experiences encountered during the ensuing years.]
"The memories seem to come in layers. For example, the first memory might
be of incest; then they remember robes and candles; next they realize
that their father or mother or both were present when they were being abused.
Another layer will be the memory of seeing other people hurt and even killed.
Then they remember having seen babies killed. Another layer is realizing
that they participated in the sacrifices. One of the most painful memories
may be that they even sacrificed their own baby.
"...the stories are so bizarre as to raise serious credibility questions.
The irony is that one of the objectives of the occult is to create multiple
personalities within the children in order to keep the 'secrets.' However, when
sixty witnesses testify to the same type of torture and murder, it becomes impossible
for me, personally, not to believe them.
"The spiritual indoctrination which takes place during the physical abuse is
one of the most difficult to overcome. In addition to experiencing stark terror
and pain, the children are also instructed in satanic doctrine.
"Children are put in a situation where they believe they are going to
die -- such as being buried alive or being placed in a plastic bag and immersed
in water. Prior to doing so, the abuser tells the child to pray to
Jesus to see if He will save her. Imagine a seven year old girl, having been
told she is going to die, praying to Jesus to save her and nothing happens
-- then at the last moment she is rescued, but the person rescuing her is
a representative of Satan. He uses this experience to convince her
that the only person who really cares about her is Satan, she is Satan's child
and she might as well become loyal to him.
"Just before or shortly after their baptism into the Church, children
are baptized by blood into the satanic order which is meant to cancel out
their baptism into the Church.
[According to
Mr. Pace, the children are then indoctrinated by the satanist. They are informed
that they are children of perdition with no chance of salvation.]
"All of this indoctrination takes place with whichever personality has
immerged to endure the physical, mental, and spiritual pain. The core
person is an active member of the Church, often with a temple recommend.
"Most victims are suicidal. They have been brainwashed with
drugs, hypnosis, and other means to become suicidal as soon as they start to
tell the secrets. They have been threatened all of their lives that if they
don't do what they are told their brother or sister will die, their parents
will die, their house will be burned, or they themselves will be killed. They
have every reason to believe it since they have seen people killed."
Flashbacks in the Temple
"I'm sorry to say that many of the victims have had their first flashbacks
while attending the temple for the first time. The occult along the
Wasatch Front uses the doctrine of the Church to their advantage. For example,
the verbiage and gestures are used in a ritualistic ceremony in a very debased
and often bloody manner. When the victim goes to the temple and hears the
exact words, horrible memories are triggered.
[Here, a Mormon
authority has just admitted that the words used in the temple are identical
to those used in occult!]
"We have recently been disturbed with members of the Church who have talked
about the temple ceremony. Compared to what is happening in the occult along
the Wasatch Front, these are very minor infractions. The perpetrators are also
living a dual life. Many are temple recommend holders. In effect, the
Church is being used.
"I go out of my way to not let the victims give me the names of the perpetrators.
However, they have told me the positions in the Church of members who are perpetrators.
Among others, there are Young Women leaders, Young Men leaders, bishops,
a patriarch, a stake president, temple workers, and members of the Tabernacle
Choir. These accusations are not coming from individuals who think they
recognized someone, but from those who have been abused by people they know,
in many cases their own family members.
"Not only do some of the perpetrators represent a cross section of the
Mormon culture, but sometimes the abuse has taken place in our own meetinghouses.
"I don't pretend to know how prevalent the problem is. All I know is that
I have met with 60 victims. Assuming each one comes from a coven of 13, we
are talking about the involvement of 800 or so right here on the Wasatch Front.
Obviously, I have only seen those coming forth to get help. I can only assume
that it is expanding geometrically." 9
Are We Jumping
to Conclusions?
We must be careful to consider all the circumstances behind the Mormon
ritual abuse allegations. We are very much aware that children do not always
tell the truth. We also know that many variables may exist that could be
questioned. But public opinion and statements made after the memo was released
are rather convincing.
Naomi Mattas (who holds a doctorate in psychology from Columbia University and
treats victims of ritual abuse) reports that at a meeting of therapists in the
area she, "...circulated a questionnaire asking how many cases have you
seen, have you treated in therapy who have reported ritual abuse. And there
was a total of 32 therapists who were in the room. There was a total
of 360 cases reported." 10
On October 25, 1991, the Mormon
Church newspaper (Deseret News) admitted, "Officials from The Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints said Friday they are evaluating reports that
satanic cults dedicated to sexually abusing children are operating within the
church " 11
It is certain that the public was
convinced that child abuse was indeed taking place. The Mormon TV station KSL-DN
reported on January 18, 1992, "Utahns overwhelmingly believe that satanic
and/or ritualistic child abuse exists. A recent KSL-DN [Deseret News] poll showed
that 90% of those surveyed say it exists. Some say it's widespread, while
others say it happens only occasionally or seldom. Only 2% do not think it
exists at all." 12
In Conclusion
We commend Bishop Pace for his concern over the abuse problem, even though he
probably had no desire for his memo to be made public. I am sure that he has
entertained a great deal of consternation over the matter.
Bishop Pace probably can't understand the reason for the Mormon dilemma because
he doesn't know the Spirit of Truth, "...whom the world cannot receive,
because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him:" 13
He knows the church is "being used,"
but is in a quandary to understand the reason behind it. He does not comprehend
the internal stress that Mormon doctrine promotes with its strict code of works
and obedience to the "precepts of men." Works, devoid of mercy and grace, lead
to suicide and violence!
Unless Bishop Pace finds a personal relationship with Jesus, he will most certainly
remain in a quandary. It is hard to see the shape of a fishbowl when you are
on the inside. And the shape of the Mormon fishbowl is an inverted pentagram!
Ye
cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils:
ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table,
and of the table of devils. (1 Corinthians
10:21)
"...thou
hast consumed them, but they have refused to receive
correction: ...they are foolish: for they know not the way of the LORD,
nor the judgment of their God." (Jeremiah 5:3-4)
An
Open Letter to Bishop Pace
and the General Authorities
of the Mormon Church:
Your dilemma reminds me of a statement by Daniel Defoe, "Wherever God erects a house of prayer, the devil always builds a chapel there; And 'twill be found, upon examination, The latter has the largest congregation." While I do not believe the Mormon Church is of God, Defoe's last line certainly addresses much of your problem.
When
Joseph Smith became involved in crystal gazing and divination (in violation
of Deuteronomy 18:10-11), he opened a direct channel to evil. When he placed
the Jupiterian talisman in his pocket, HE INVITED THE
DEVIL IN!
When
Joseph proclaimed himself higher than Jesus, HE INVITED
THE DEVIL IN!
When
Brigham Young turned the Almighty God into a man of flesh and bones (in violation
of Numbers 23:19), HE INVITED THE DEVIL IN!
When
Brigham professed that he would become a god (in violation of Isaiah 43:10),
HE INVITED THE DEVIL IN!
When
Brigham adorned the Mormon temple with pentagrams and other occultic symbols,
HE INVITED THE DEVIL IN!
When
you chose works over grace (in violation of Ephesians 2:8-9), you brought upon
yourselves a curse according to Galatians 3:10 and YOU
INVITED THE DEVIL IN!
When
you used the temple ceremony for secret combinations (in violation of John 18:20),
YOU INVITED THE DEVIL IN!
When
you used the blood oaths and penalties (in violation of Matthew 5:33-37 and
Ephesians 5:12), YOU INVITED THE DEVIL IN!
When
temple patrons adorned themselves in what was clearly described as a satanic
apron, THEY INVITED THE DEVIL IN!
When
you proclaimed that the Creator Jesus is the spirit brother of His own creation,
YOU INVITED THE DEVIL IN!
Why
then, were you so surprised and baffled when the devil came in?
"Wherefore
come out from among them,
and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing;
and I will receive you,..." (2 Corinthians 6:17)
